Senator Mark Udall, Does Party Trump Nation?
Posted by admin in Politics, Uncategorized on November 11, 2009
Here is a note I sent to Senator Mark Udall, D-CO on November 11, 2009. Your comments are appreciated. If anyone else can answer the two direct questions at the end of my note, please let me know by commenting.
Mr. Udall,
Your support of a government takeover of 1/6 of the American economy is a thinly veiled attempt to permanently establish the Democrat party in power. Why are you more devoted to your party than your nation?
I am no big Republican supporter since they are not freedom lovers when it comes to social issues. My beliefs spring from the central idea that the individual is the foundation of the nation. That the government’s job is to insure that all individual freedom is preserved. That you can not make one man more free by making another man less free.
Mr. Udall, you are a smart man, you should know that government and government programs are not what made this nation great. Please, think about the health care issue and realize it is another program that will never go away and always cost more than we think is should like social security, medicare, and about a thousand others. Don’t you get tired of always trying to figure out how to save these bloated and inefficient programs? Lets put the individual in charge of themselves (novel idea huh?), no one is better suited to have ones own interest in mind than the individual himself.
I would not presume to know what is best for you Mr. Udall. If you are careless with your assets, so be it, you can live with the consequences. If you want to be thrifty with your assets, more power to you. I want you to be totally free to succeed or fail as you wish. Isn’t that a great feeling, no restrictions or boundaries to what you can do? Why do you think you know best how I should live my life? Why do you think my rights should be subjugated to another mans by taxing me to pay for the health care of someone else?
Sincerely,
Allyen E. Wilson III
Note to Ed Perlmutter, D-CO, Regarding HR3962
Here is the copy of an email I sent to Representative Ed Perlmutter notifying him that I will be active in a campaign to replace him at the next election.
Mr. Perlmutter,
I wanted to let you know how disappointed I am that you voted for HR 3962. I am 45 and have never been politically active but President Obama’s policies and your endless support for them have got me up off my couch. I am now a fervent political activist and will be fully engaged in working to make President Obama and you one term servants.
You should be ashamed of this vote and its effective reduction of freedom for Americans. Government and government programs are not what made this nation great. You will someday realize that the country you thought you were serving in good conscience you were actually cutting down at the knees.
Sincerely,
Allyen E. Wilson III
